An apparatus for controlling power is provided to overcome the limit of the key arrangement by controlling the power without a physical button of the electronic device. A temperature sensor(200) has a first input terminal and a second input terminal. The first input terminal senses the temperature by contacting the body of the user. The temperature sensor outputs the voltage corresponding to the signals inputted through the first input terminal and the second input terminal. The voltage outputted from the temperature sensor is applied to two comparators(220,230). Each comparator outputs one of the high signal or low signal according to the applied voltage. When the high signal is outputted from one comparator, a power source determining unit(240) outputs an OR signal. A power switching unit(250) is switched according to the output of the power source determining unit. A touch sensor(210) senses the touch input of the user when the power is applied. The touch sensor outputs the power control signal when the current is varied.
