Hardener (A) for silicone rubber materials, comprises at least one silicone compound (I). Hardener (A) for silicone rubber materials, comprises at least one silicon compound of formula (Si(R 1>) 3R 2>) (I). R 1>2-hydroxy-propionic acid alkyl ester radicals of formula (-OCH(CH 3)COOR); R : 1-4C alkyl radical (optionally substituted); and R 2>alkenyl radical having at least two carbon atoms (optionally substituted). Independent claims are included for: (1) a composition comprising (A) and an organosilicone compound; and (2) preparing (A) comprising reacting a halo silicon compound of formula (SiX 3R 5>) with three equivalents of alkyl lactate (hydroxy-propionic acid alkyl ester). R 5>alkenyl or alkynyl radical having at least two carbon atoms (optionally substituted); and X : alkoxy radical having at least one carbon atom and halo, preferably chlorine.
