An apparatus and a method for monitoring a transformation apparatus are provided to prevent data collision by setting communication section of each connected sensor node without using a contention period of a beacon mode. A system for monitoring a transformation apparatus includes a sensor node(100), a gateway(200), and a monitoring server. Each sensor node receives the transformation apparatus monitoring data from the transformation apparatus and performs the monitoring, measuring, controlling functions. The gateway collects the transformation apparatus monitoring data from each sensor node by wireless. The gateway transmits the transformation apparatus monitoring data to a monitoring server by wire. The transformation apparatus monitoring data includes a sensor value like the state information that is a current value and a voltage value, and the contact change state information. The gateway relays data transmission and reception between the sensor node and the monitoring server by checking a wireless communication state between sensor nodes. The monitoring server provides the user interface.
