<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation pedal device of an automobile capable of suppressing backward movement of a tread part of an operation pedal associated with the backward movement of a dashboard in a head-on collision. <P>SOLUTION: A yoke lever 12 is mounted on an operation pedal 8 via a second pivot 13 below a first pivot 9 to support an operation pedal 8, an input rod 4b of working equipment is connected to the yoke lever 12 in a relatively turnable manner via a connection shaft 15, and a locking means 26 to hold the yoke lever at a predetermined position A is connected to the yoke lever 12. An unlocking member 22 which is supported by a steering hanger beam 1b to unlock the holding effect of the locking means 26 when a dashboard 1a is displaced backwardly by a predetermined quantity is arranged behind the locking means 26.
