APPARATUS FOR CHAMFERING OF LENS

An apparatus for chamfering the corners of lens is provided to accomplish superior outer appearance by turning a tool rest based on the height of the corners and machining the outer diameter of lens, and thus chamfering them to have a constant section. An apparatus for chamfering the corners of lens comprises a frame(1), a main motor(30) fastened perpendicular to the frame; a lens support(31) rotating by the power from a main motor; an aligning unit composed of an aligning finger(323) contacting with four points at the circumferential surface of lens; a pneumatic cylinders(320,330) installed onto a vertical center shaft of the lens support in order to rotate the aligned lens; a fastening element composed of a fixture compressing the top of lens, rotating with lens; a pair of tool rests on which a grinding tool is kept in place, rotatably held to a support in order to chamfer the corners of lens; and a rotating element rotating the tool rests in order to enable the grinding stone of the tool rest to chamfer the corners of lens.
