A home network test apparatus and a method using the virtual home device providing a virtual sensor modularizing the sensor function of the home device are provided to offer a test and certification environment about virtual environment without implementing actual home network or the home device. A home network test apparatus(100) comprises an operator environment unit(110), a virtual sensor unit(120), a normalization unit(130), a signal generating unit(140) and a control analyzing unit(150). The home network test apparatus is connected by the network connection device(200) to the home network(300). The home network is connected in the outside of groove with the internet(400). The operator environment division inputs environment setup value about the virtual sensor of the virtual home device. According to the virtual sensor part is configuration the prescribed operation function, it performs about the virtual sensor. The standardize part converts into the digital data which is standardized in order to be the sensor output data outputted in the virtual sensor part corresponded to the sensor input condition of the network connection device.
