PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change over a screen by the operation of a direction key provided in a remote control device by imparting a function for changing over an operation-objective screen to one of elements such as characters and images included in the operation-objective screen in a television apparatus capable of displaying a plurality of screens. SOLUTION: This television apparatus 10 is provided with: a browser 1 for generating scteen information corresponding to a television signal on the basis of specific data (e.g. BML document) included in a received television signal; a screen operation/display processing part 5 for displaying a plurality of reduced screens on one display screen by compositing a plurality of pieces of generated screen information; and the remote control device 2 for changing over the plurality of displayed reduced screens to remotely operate each reduced image. The browser part 1 imparts a function for changing over the operation object to the other reduced screen to one of elements included in a reduced screen being an operation object of the remote control 2, and the image operation/display processing part 5 changes over the operation object from the element to the other reduced screen by operating a direction key, etc., provided in the remote control 2.
