Bit pattern media are provided to reduce or offset constant magnetic force from adjacent bits with exchange coupling force between the adjacent bits by applying the exchange coupling force in an opposite direction on the static magnetic force. Bit pattern media are composed of multi bits(22a) as an unit record region and a bridge(22b) connecting adjacent bits. The bridge is integrally formed with the bit. The bridge induces exchanged-coupling between the adjacent bits. The exchange coupling force has a size to offset or reduce constant magnetic force on each bit. The average width of the bridge has small value comparing to the width of the bit.
