Provided is a composition for hair loss prevention and hair growth promotion by using a terpene-based compound which expresses an excellent effect of hair growth promotion. A composition for hair loss prevention and hair growth promotion comprises one ore more compounds represented by the formula 1 and formula 2 as active ingredients. In the formula 1, R shows a C1~C5 alcohol, aldehyde, acid, or alkylene. The contents of the compound is 0.01~10% on a total weight basis of the composition. The compound is selected from the group consisting of beta-citronellol, citronellal, citronellene, citronellic acid, and linalooloxide.
