A method for automatically adjusting a contents player according to content genre and a delivery and reception system realizing the same are provided to adjust a contents player automatically by signal-processing the setting values of optimal image and voice, that a broadcasting program genre has, from split meta data. A contents source(101) is provided, and a meta data source(104) controls the function of a contents player(117) which reproduces contents. A combining unit forms a complex data set by combining the contents source with the meta data source, and a delivery device(108) transmits the complex data set to at least one receiver(111). The meta data includes the setting values of the images and voices depending on the genre of the contents.
