PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber insertion tool which has high operability and can materialize a highly accurate connection. SOLUTION: The optical fiber insertion tool is used for connecting work between optical fibers, the optical fiber insertion tool 1 has an optical fiber holder 3 holding an optical fiber 2 and a support base 4 supporting the optical fiber holder 3 and an optical connector. The support base 4 has a guide section 21 which slides the optical fiber holder 3 closer to and away from the optical connector and a connector support section 22 which supports the optical connector. The support base 4 can be installed on an optical fiber holder moving base of an optical fiber tip processing device which processes a tip of the optical fiber 2. While the support base 4 is placed on the optical fiber holder moving base, the optical fiber holder 3 is slid and moved in the guide section 21 to process the tip of the optical fiber 2 or position it for tip processing.
