PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a lubricant in a proper quantity, to restrain an abnormal image such as a texture soiling when restarted after stopped, and to keep stable image quality over a long period. SOLUTION: This image forming device has a counting means for counting a stop time of a developing device (stop times of a photoreceptor and a device main body are included as the same meaning), and ON-/OFF-timing for rotation of a bristle raising member (brush roller) of a lubricant applying means is controlled by a count value counted by the counting means.
