PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demand control device for an air conditioner capable of limiting the electric energy used in the air conditioner without giving the sense of discomfort, by reducing the change of temperature or the temperature difference during the demand control. SOLUTION: This demand control device for an air conditioner comprises a wattmeter 5 detecting the total electric energy used by a plurality of air conditioners 2a-2c, 3a-3c, 4a-4c, a sun position detecting means 7 for detecting a position of the sun, a priority determining means 6 for determining the priority of the air conditioners as the object of demand control on the basis of the information detected by the sun position detecting means 7 in a case when the total used electric energy detected by the wattmeter 5 is over a predetermined reference value, and an air conditioner control means 8 for controlling the stop of the air conditioner or the impairing of performance on the basis of the information on priority from the priority determining means 6.
