PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverse dispersion retardation film with a low Tg having a characteristic as an excellent retardation film and a fine handling property. SOLUTION: The retardation film uses a resin comprising a recurring unit having a partial structure expressed by formula (1), a recurring unit expressed by formula (2), a recurring unit expressed by formula (3), and a recurring unit expressed by formula (4). Molar fractions of the recurring unit (a) expressed by formula (2) and the recurring unit (b) expressed by formula (4) meet formula (5). Formula (6) is met when a molar fraction of the recurring units having the partial structure expressed by formula (1) is (c). A molar fraction of the recurring units expressed by formula (3) is (d), and a glass transition temperature of the retardation film is 100°C or more and less than 190°C. In formulas, R" and R' are selected from hydrogen, halogen, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group and a nitro group, R expresses the aliphatic hydrocarbon group or the aromatic hydrocarbon group, X expresses oxygen, sulfur or selenium, and Y is selected from families comprising a single bond, oxygen, sulfur, an alkylene group and an alkylidene group, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
