A system, a method and a marking for identifying and validating individual product elements within a group of product elements, the system comprising identification codes (1) which can be reproduced on each individual product element (EP), a medium (S) which contains encrypted digital information (2) which can be read by means of a suitable reader, the medium (S) being applicable to the group of product elements, the encrypted digital information (2) comprising a first software in encrypted form which is suitable to generate the identification codes (1), the system further comprising an electronic unit (4) provided with means (3, 6) for reading and decrypting the encrypted digital information (2), means (3, 5) for acquiring the identification codes (1) reproduced on each individual product element, and means for comparison between the acquired identification codes (1) reproduced on each individual product element (EP) and the identification codes that can be generated by the first software.
