PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation performance by simplifying the structure of a stator and minimizing a gap between the stator and a rotor. SOLUTION: This induction motor is provided with the ring-shaped stator 10 and the disk-shaped rotor 20 which opposes the stator 10 in the axial direction of the stator via the gap G. In the stator 10, coils 12, 12 are accommodated in slots 11a, 11a in the radial direction of an iron core 11 formed by spirally laminating band-shaped silicon steel plates.
