PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication connecting apparatus excellent in information protection since therein no risk of information leakage by radio wave interception, and capable of preventing chain damages to other computers connected in a communication network, when one computer device is exposed to attack of virus infection. SOLUTION: This communication connecting apparatus is equipped with a first insertion part 26 to which the terminal 51 of a communication cable 5 capable of supplying a power supply from a first computer device, a first infrared transmitting and receiving part, a first circuit board 23 which is provided so as to be connected to the first insertion part 26 and the infrared transmitting and receiving part, and which is driven and stopped in accordance with the power supply and an ON/Off signal input from the first communication cable 5 to perform mutual conversion between an electric signal and an infrared signal and to control driving of the first infrared transmitting and receiving part. It is also equipped with a second insertion part 36 in which the terminal 61 of a communication cable 6 is inserted, a second infrared transmitting and receiving part, and a second circuit board 33 which are structured similarly to the first insertion part 26, the first infrared transmitting and receiving part, and the first circuit board 23 respectively.
