PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for a water-based ballpoint pen which is housed in an ink housing cylinder having a ballpoint pen tip mounted on the tip, has smooth writing touch even under high writing pressure, is free from bleeding of handwriting and small in the ink leakage. SOLUTION: In the ink composition for water-based ballpoint pen, a lubricant comprises at least two kinds of lubricants of a water-soluble extreme pressure-agent and an oily agent, wherein the water-soluble extreme-pressure agent is a phosphoric ester-based surfactant and the oily agent is an alkylene oxide addition compound of glycerine or polyglycerine.
