PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner which suppresses the generation of a black spot due to dielectric breakdown of a photoreceptor surface, suppresses the deterioration of toner charging, and prevents color muddiness of a formed image from occurring, and an image forming apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner contains titanium oxide obtained by surface-treating titanium oxide having an average primary particle diameter of≤100 nm with a fatty acid metal salt and a titanium coupling agent or an aluminate coupling agent, wherein the surface-treated titanium oxide has an average secondary particle diameter of 150-800 nm.
