PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound wave generator, stirring device and automatic analyzer which are not require designing for every usage pattern. SOLUTION: The sound wave generator 2, stirring device and automatic analyzer are provided with a piezoelectric substrate 2a and interdigital electrodes 2b and 2c, formed on the plate surface of the piezoelectric substrate and excited by inputting the drive signal. The interdigital electrodes are driven at a frequency different from the frequency determined by the interval between the interdigital electrodes and simultaneously, generates a plurality of sound waves which are different ion oscillation modes. The stirring device is provided with the sound wave generator and a controller for controlling the driving signal inputted to the interdigital electrodes and churns the liquid held in a vessel, by using at least one sound wave from among the plurality of sound waves which are generated simultaneously, but have different oscillation modes.
