PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermal head superior in durability in which variation of resistance values is little, and to provide the thermal head and an image printer. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method for manufacturing the thermal head 70 having a heating resistor 72 including Si and C as compositions. The method comprises a process of forming the heating resistor 72, a process of forming an electrode 64 without applying a heat treatment to the heating resistor 72 after the forming thereof, a process of forming a protection film 58, and a process of carrying out trimming.
