PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate a fuel spray simulation and enhance its efficiency as well as enable a highly accurate fuel spray simulation to be performed corresponding to a varying in-cylinder condition. SOLUTION: An in-cylinder condition data at a plurality of specified timings during injections is calculated based upon an in-cylinder condition data; an actual measurement data of spray characteristics corresponding to the in-cylinder condition data at each of specified timings is calculated; a spray calculation is made according to a simulation using an actual engine model under a setting of a constant vessel condition in which there is no flow corresponding to the in-cylinder condition data at each of specified timings; a spray model at each of the specified timings is determined by combining the calculated data with the actual measurement data; and a spray calculation up to the next specified timing is made using the spray model.
