The purpose of the invention is to reduce the effect of bulge waves and pressure fluctuations within the streamer. A seismic streamer (10) includes a jacket (30) and at least one seismic sensor (32) disposed in a sensor holder inside the jacket. The at least one sensor (32) is oriented inside the sensor holder such that a response of the at least one sensor is substantially longitudinally symmetric. The transducer is disposed in an enclosure having an axis of symmetry. The axis of symmetry can be arranged to be coaxially symmetrical or symmetrical normal to the longitudinal axis of the sensor holder. |
