An apparatus and a method for providing a customized image service are provided to set and update EPG per a user, thereby increasing convenience of viewing environments. A personal customized image service system comprises a user information database(21), an EPG storing unit(22), an interface unit(23), and a right processing unit(24) and an EPG managing unit(25). The EPG storing unit stores EPG provided from a broadcasting service provider and viewing right information set by a master user. The interface unit generates a user interface for controlling a viewing right by using the EPG provided from the broadcasting service provider. The interface unit provides the generated user interface to a user terminal, and stores the viewing right information provided from the user terminal through the user interface in an information DB. When the viewing right information is received from the user terminal through the interface unit, the right processing unit generates EPG per a user by using the EPG stored in the EPG storing unit and the received viewing right information and updates the EPG in the EPG storing unit. |
