An isolated peptide consisting of 5-25 amino acids, which includes amino acids 11-15 of a sequence having 62 amino acids fully defined in the specification (SEQ ID NO: 2), is new. - Independent claims are also included for: - (1) a method of immunization; - (2) methods of purifying or isolating an antibody or a substance; - (3) methods for the quantitative or qualitative detection of an analyte or prothrombin fragments F1+2 and/or F2 in a sample; - (4) an isolated antibody which binds specifically to the above peptide or to an epitope on the N-terminal half of the F2 fragment of prothrombin, or which is produced by the hybridoma cell line DSM ACC2607; - (5) a composition comprising the antibody and a pharmaceutical, sterile injection medium; - (6) a method of diagnosing a disease or disorder; - (7) a reagent comprising the above peptide or antibody; - (8) a test kit comprising the reagent; and - (9) an isolated cell or a hybridoma cell line that produces the above isolated antibody. - ACTIVITY - Anticoagulant; Thrombolytic. - No biological data given. - MECHANISM OF ACTION - Gene therapy; Vaccine.
