The device has an inner code band and metal code band that are arranged at an arbitrary position and a set of LEDs, where light from the LEDs is used for transillumination to read a code over an optical fiber. A set of oscillators and inductances are provided around a set of metal code strips, which are provided on a euro cheque (EC) card, credit card and plastic card. A set of opto-receivers is used for reading the code bands, passing data for providing digital data and writing signals separately from a sample of the code bands.
