An electric power generator and a method for generating a substantially constant frequency output from a varying mechanical speed input is disclosed. The electric power generator comprises a three-phase induction machine which has a rotor and a stator. The stator has three windings where at least one winding is magnetically and electrically decoupled from at least one other winding, which is arranged to be connected to an external load. A power source is arranged to excite the at least one stator winding with an AC current at a desired output frequency. |
