The present invention refers to a system and method for monitoring and supervising potential traffic infractions, comprising the detection of potential traffic infractions and the capture of the images thereof, wherein the images preferentially relate to a sequence of images of the pre and post events, further comprising a multi-thread module which enables the capture of images of one or more potential traffic infractions occurring in the same or in different lanes of the road, with almost simultaneous pre-event and post-event sequences having at least a few fractions of a second of difference between each other.
