A display apparatus for displaying an image. The apparatus comprises a base (6) having a recessed profile, a plurality of translucent beads (7) and a cover (8). The base can be moulded and the depth of the profile varies so as to display various intensities of an image when filled with beads. Both the base and the beads can be formed from coloured material or may be coated with colour. In a second embodiment, a liquid can be used instead of beads. The cover is transparent and is sealed to the base. The apparatus may comprise several layers, each with its own base, or it may have recessed profiles on both sides of the base. |
