An anti-wrinkle cosmetic composition containing curcuma xanthorrhiza and xanthorrhizol is provided to improve wrinkle caused by photoaging, by suppressing the expression of collagenase-1 (MMP-1, matrix metalloproteinase-1). An anti-wrinkle cosmetic composition for suppressing the expression of collagenase-1 (MMP-1, matrix metalloproteinase-1) comprises xanthorrhizol represented by the formula 1 as an active ingredient.
