The transmitter memory programming method performs a transmitter search for providing a transmitter search table holding data for a number of transmitters, compared with a specific user group transmitter table stored in the receiver, for transferring the data relating to the transmitters appearing in both tables to a personal transmitter table held in a read-only memory. An Independent claim for a satellite broadcast receiver is also included.
