Moisture profile correction

The method involves allowing a web (1) e.g. paper web, to run together with a hydrophilic dehydration strap (4) via press loops. The strap is subjected with a gaseous liquid medium after leading away of the web in a correction section extending transverse to a web running direction (14). The medium is directed on a side of the strap coming in contact with the web, when moisture content of the web is to be high in the correction section. The medium is directed on the side of the strap coming in not-contact with the web, when the moisture content is to be low in the correction section. An independent claim is also included for a device for influencing a humidity cross section of a paper web, cardboard web or a fabric web in a press section for dehydration of a web of a machine for producing and/or finishing the web.
