A desk sensor device using infrared rays and a control method thereof are provided to prevent damage caused by indoor mold in winter by warning an indoor dew point by checking a moisture content of room air by infrared rays. An infrared ray measuring part(110) measures a moisture content in the air by infrared rays. A memory(120) stores dew point data mapped according to moisture rates. A control part(130) extracts the dew point stored in the memory based on the measured moisture content and displays dew point alarm via a display part(140).
