A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided to improve the display quality by controlling pre-charge driving by the amount of high gradation data among that of first line. A liquid crystal panel(102) displays image has a plurality of gate lines(GL1~GLn) and data lines(DL1~DLn). An input unit inputs data corresponding to the image indicated on the liquid crystal panel. A data driver(106) operates the liquid crystal panel by converting data from the input unit to a pixel voltage. A pre-charge unit selectively supplies a pre-charge voltage from a plurality of data lines or a pixel data voltage selectively. A pre-charge controller(112) controls the pre-charge unit by selectively blocking the pre-charge voltage. |
