A device having a cooling section capable of extending life of the device. The device has a heat production section for producing heat in an operation state etc., the cooling section for cooling the heat produced by the heat production section, and a first power source for supplying electric power to the heat production section and the cooling section. The device also has a section for driving the cooling section when the operation state is changed to a rest state or stop state where the first power source is turned off, and such driving of the cooling section is made by using a second power source that can be controlled independent of the first power source.
