<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten measurement time of light emission characteristics of an OLED element for performing feedback to image data for image display in an organic EL display device. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel PX1 for emitting red light, a pixel PX2 for emitting green light and a pixel PX3 for emitting blue light are arranged like a matrix on a screen. A detection system 120 is installed at the upper part of the screen. A detection line 116 extending from the detection system 120 is connected to the respective pixels via an analog switch SWR1, etc. and a digital switch controlled by a switch control line RSCL, etc. A scanning circuit 150 for detection is installed at the right of the screen. A detection switch control line TSC1, etc. extends from the scanning circuit 150 for detection.
