PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method capable of easily selecting and executing a program for editing a display element such as a displayed graphic.

SOLUTION: A display element editing device comprises: a designated element detecting part S93 for detecting that information designating any of editable display elements displayed on a screen is input by using a pointing device; a menu display part S94 for displaying a menu including one or a plurality of types of edition menu items for editing a display element preselected in association with the type of the designated display element in the neighborhood of the display element; a menu selection detecting part S95 for detecting that one of the edition menu items is selected by an operation of the pointing device; and an executing part S96 for executing a prescribed editing program corresponding to the detected edition menu item.
