<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head that can capture a clear image and allow a face of a lens array at an emission side of the light to be readily and surely cleaned, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This line head 13 comprises a lens support section 65, the lens array 6 having a plurality of lenses 64 which are supported by the lens support section 65 and are arranged in a plurality of rows in a main scanning direction and in a plurality of columns in a sub-scanning direction, each of which the incident face of the light L is made to be a convex face 62, and a plurality of light emitting element groups 71, each of which is constituted of a plurality of light emitting elements 74 provided to each lens 64 and is disposed to the incident side of the light L of the lens array 6 corresponding to each lens 64. In the plurality of lenses 64, at least two lenses 64 residing in each row have different focal lengths.
