PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-rigidity high-damping-capacity cast iron in which, while allowing a Young's modulus and damping capacity to be consistent, the damping capacity is further improved. SOLUTION: A high-rigidity high-damping-capacity cast iron is provided and characterized by consisting of C and Si having a carbon equivalent represented by the formula below of 3.30 to 3.95%, 0.25 to 1.0% of Mn, not more than 0.04% of P, not more than 0.03% of S, 3 to 7% of Al, 0.03 to 0.20% of Sn and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities.
