PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deviation and variation of a lagging axis of an optical compensation film. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of the optical compensation film that includes a step of applying a coating liquid containing a liquid crystalline compound onto a transparent web 14 having an alignment film layer formed thereon, drying the applied layer and hardening the dried coated layer, a wind velocity of drying air components in the width direction of the web 14 in the vicinity of the coated layer of the web 14 is set to≤0.7 m/sec, in a step until hardening of the coated layer is completed, after the coated layer is dried until the solid concentration in the coated layer becomes 80% or higher.
