A dispensing mechanism that when part of a container (1) for example a vial for storing test strips (5), allows the user to extract a predetermined number of test strips (5) at any one time from the container. This would normally be one test strip at a time. The dispensing mechanism has a double pivot (7). After a predetermined amount of arc of the top pivot, the cover (8) is automatically transferred to the second pivot. This creates an increased ratio of travel for the dispenser (2) with regards to the same amount of arc of the cover (8). This in turn brings the test strip far enough beyond the container opening to allow the user to extract a single strip (5) either manually or by placing a test meter directly onto the strip. |
