<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an apparatus usable by reducing radio interference even when it is used in an environment where a number of the apparatuses (portable information processing apparatuses including mobile phones) are present within a narrow area. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an apparatus security protection method for a system comprising a wireless security unit 1 which comprises a communication means including a transmitter 35 and a receiver 23 and sends out an identification code signal with a fixed strength by means of the communication means; and a portable type apparatus which includes a communication means and an information processing means and includes a function locking/unlocking unit 3 for locking or unlocking the function of the information processing means, wherein the wireless security unit 1 randomly sets a polling interval that is a time to the next polling, every time of polling and notifies an apparatus 2A of the polling interval, thereby dynamically changing the polling interval, power consumption is suppressed by shifting into a low power consumption state of a sleep mode between polling intervals, and interference is avoided in a case where a plurality of apparatuses of the same type are present around one apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
