<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pupil color correction apparatus that makes correction on a color of a pupil of a person of a shot person's image if there is an abnormality possibly occurring in an image of a pupil part such as red-eye effect, and if it is recognized that a pupil's color inherent in the person is not completely lost due to such effect. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: a complexion determination section 13 for determining a color of complexion of a subject person in an input image; skin correction color calculation section 14 for obtaining a skin correction color that is a color of a pupil of a person, estimated based on a color of complexion determined by the complexion determination section; an original pupil's color calculation section 16 for obtaining an original pupil's color that is a representative color of the outer-peripheral area, from colors of pixels included in an outer-peripheral area of the person's pupil; a correction reference color determination section 17 for acquiring the obtained skin correction color and original pupil's color and determining any one of them as a pupil correction reference color for correction; and a correction section 19 for correcting a pupil's color of the subject person based on the correction reference color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
