<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic paper display device which allows display contents to be visually recognized even in a dark place in the dark, at night, etc. and can be manufactured at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic paper display device includes: an electronic paper main body 1 which is capable of keeping image information displayed without power supply and is rewritable; and a front light unit 2 disposed in the front of the electronic paper main body 1. The front light unit 2 includes: a light guiding and scattering member 6 which is disposed in the front of the electronic paper main body 1 and allows light incident from front and rear sides to be transmitted through and guides and scatters light incident from end parts to emit this light toward the electronic paper main body 1; and a light source 8 which causes light to be incident on the inside of the light guiding and scattering member 6 from the end parts directly or through a light guiding member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
