PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact higher harmonic convertible fiber laser capable of generating the laser pulses of high repetition≥10 kHz and high peak output≥100 kW, and to highly efficiently generate higher harmonics by a nonlinear optical crystal by using the output. SOLUTION: A system is constructed by an oscillator which has an active loss switching system and has an oscillation spectrum width≥1 GHz even though a resonator length is short and one stage of a fiber amplifier, and introduction is performed to a polarization plane maintaining double clad fiber having an absorption coefficient≥3 dB/m.
