<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant with the deletion of a specific chromosome, which is obtained by using chromosomal engineering techniques in interspecies hybridization between plants of different species, and to provide a method of constructing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The plant with the alien monosomic deletion, which is a diploid plant having heterogeneous plant genomes in a half number and showing a useful characteristic differing from the parent plants, since one chromosome of heterogeneous plant-genome has been deleted therefrom, is prepared by doubling the chromosome of an interspecies hybrid formed by hybridization, crossbreeding the product with a single parent strain to construct the diploid plant having heterogeneous plant genomes in a half number, and further crossbreeding the diploid plant with the single parent strain. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
