<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication terminal, a data communication method, a data communication program, and a recording medium, for simplifying the program and reducing required memory size without requiring a user to set the speed in IP communication. <P>SOLUTION: The data communication terminal has a connection means for connecting to an IP network, a determination means for determining an available band from voice codec type, and a control means for controlling the band to be used in data communication connection after voice connection. The control means determines the available network band in data communication from the voice codec type used for voice connection and controls the band to be used for data communication.
