PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function of protecting individual information, which effectively functions with respect to actions for illegally releasing or changing an operation lock and an operation mode. SOLUTION: When first user authentication by the input of a security number fails a plurality of times in an operation lock state, a portable terminal changes a non-display flag to be "1", and performs transition to an individual information non-displaying mode for suppressing the displaying of the individual information stored in a memory. The portable terminal subsequently continues to be operated in the individual information non-displaying mode unless the second user authentication (originator number authentication) which is different from the first user authentication is successfully performed, regardless of the operation lock state/operation unlock state.
