PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which uses light emitting elements, has especially tone reproduction improved, and can perform multi-level representation. SOLUTION: An active matrix drive type display device has a plurality of pixels controlled independently of one another, wherein the pixels each have at least two sub-pixels powered to emit light beams of light emission colors of mutually the same color system and one sub-pixel has lower light emission efficiency per unit current than the other pixel.
