PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which, even if incident light on an imaging optical system from the outside of a photographic viewing angle is reflected on the inner wall of the lens barrel, can provide a high-contrast image without exerting influence of the reflected incident light on photographic image quality, and to provide an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The lens barrel has the imaging optical system comprising at least two or more lens groups and capable of performing variable power, and an imaging device for photoelectrically converting a subject image, wherein a polarizing filter is arranged astern of the first lens group positioned nearest to the object side in the imaging optical system.
